Description: Large sized wedding chest hand-made in the Punjab region of Pakistan early in the last century. This wedding chest is a wonderful example of Punjabi furniture – with beautifully aged paintwork in lovely reds and yellows against lightly carved panels. This would have been part of a bride’s dowry and used to store clothing, jewellery and other personal effects. Top-opening section

Age & Overall Condition: Early to mid 20th century, Punjab region, Pakistan. Condition reflective of age – fading of paint for example but no significant structural damage.
