Beni M'Guild Rug

The carpets woven by the Beni M'Guild tribe are some of the most sought after amongst North African rugs - renowned for their exquisite weaving and striking design.

This Beni M'Guild was woven in wool in the 1970s and has a superb colour palette combining time-softened pinks, deep blues and purples. Deliberate imperfections are sometimes created in Berber rugs (with the weaver's belief that only God should make perfect creations) and in the case of this piece there is a section of contrasting red thread.
