Tuareg Box

Mid to late 20th century painted box. Used by the Tuareg people, a Berber tribe from northwest Africa. The Tuareg are nomadic, migrating with their herds across the Saharan region. This wooden chest would have been used to store items during their frequent moves.

Size: 72 cm length, 47 cm height, 28 cm depth
