Canoe Display Unit

Country of Origin: Kenya

Material: Reclaimed hardwood (mangrove)

Description: Striking and beautiful display unit created from an old ngalawa (canoe) that was once used for fishing in the mangroves and sea on the Kenyan coast. The wax finish complements the wood and some of the old paintwork, with the structure itself both useful and unique.

Age & Overall Condition: Hardwoods reclaimed from old hardwood canoe, each piece individually treated by Tribal Gallery carpenters in Kenya. Each piece of wood carries traces of its past life as a working canoe – holes in the wood where there were once nails for example. The wood has been lovingly transformed by hand and will be enjoyed for decades.
